Set under stately giant redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains, you will find the world famous Brookdale Lodge.

The original lodge was built in 1890 by Judge J.H. Logan at the site of the Grover lumber mill. In the early 1920’s, Dr. F.K. Camp built the beautiful dining room with the natural brook running through it. A feature in Ripley’s Believe It or Not served to make the Brookdale Lodge world famous. Throughout the years, the Brookdale Lodge has hosted a number of notable guests: movie stars, music celebrities and a U.S. President.

As we arrived at Waverly Hills Sanitorium, the storm clouds were beginning to gather and we knew we were in for some bad weather. We were meeting other members of the Nightwatchers (who let us know our entrance into Waverly was delayed for an hour and a half) and getting to know everyone when the clouds opened up. We are from Southern California so during the first downpour of the night we saw more rain then we usually get in a whole year. We had to run for the shelter of our rental car and dove in soaking wet and muddy. The deluge didn’t last long but we were hit with several more drenching rains before we were able to enter Waverly.

We met members of Central Indiana Paranormal and Scott from Ghostly Talk.

Paralore.com teamed up with Todd Sheets and the Nightwatchers to tackle the Haunted USS Hornet. This was a great experience for Team Paralore and we can’t wait for the next Nightwatchers adventure. American Paranormal Investigations made it out for the fun and so did Planet Paranormal. It was a great group of people and the crew onboard the Hornet were pretty damned cool, aside from being weird of course. Anyway, this podcast was recorded after the Hornet trip and you can probably tell that we were pretty tired. Maxx and I didn’t get hardly any sleep as we didn’t realize we needed to furnish our own bedding. Try sleeping onboard a cold, haunted aircraft carrier with no blankets !!
